Ricardo Umpierrez

I'm Ricardo Umpierrez, from Uruguay. I grew up surrounded by technology — I ran game servers, built small pieces of software and taught myself long before I set foot in a university. Curiosity always came before the classroom.

Later I made it formal, studying Software Engineering at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay, and then earned an MBA at Universidad de Palermo — where my thesis turned into detailing.uy, an academic project that became a real platform.

Professionally, I've been through some of the biggest tech companies in the region: I was part of MercadoLibre and Oracle, and worked at large corporations and Latin American unicorns as well as fast-moving startups.

I adapt to the problem — not to a stack or a company size. What motivates me most is applying what I know to solve real problems and create opportunities where there were none before.

I'm also involved in the family business autoaccesorios.com.uy, bringing technology and digital marketing to keep it growing.

Today I keep building: I founded detailing.uy and detailing.lat, I'm co-founder of CursosDetailer.com, and I keep launching my own projects at the intersection of technology and the automotive industry.
